Bleeds for inside block
Bleeds are the printed areas of the sheet that extend beyond the edge of the planned publication and will be cut off during printing processing. The block's net format equals the format you want to get. The gross block format is the format before cutting, i.e. before bleeds are removed.

Inside block without bleeds is when no objects in the design will be printed to the edge of the sheet.

Book specification
Inside block printing type
The option is designed for printing books with a lot of difficult graphics and for small and very small print runs. Suitable for all types of graphics, especially desirable for difficult work, with lots of illustrations, large area solids, etc. High density printing, very black, darker colours than in offset printing. The edges of the mark observed by the microscope are very sharp. It is suitable for printing on all papers we use from 70 gsm.
Level of Ink coverage
The work contains mainly text, charts and tables. Single, small photos are also acceptable. The option also applies to 2+2 printed works (from the CMYK palette). Total coverage with colours up to 20% counted within the ordered format.

Die-cut window in the cover
The window is cut into the cover after the block is cased in. Its preparation involves making a hole in the covering, base case and endpaper. The window may be located at the front or back of the book and may take a round or rectangular shape.

They can be cut at an angle or standard. In the first case, the cutting tool is angled at 45 degrees to the cover and in the second, at 90 degrees.

When designing, consider the tolerance of object matching between the covering and endpaper, which can be up to 2 mm. Avoid, for example, lines that would have their continuation on the part of the endpaper visible in the die-cut window.

The safety limits are 25 mm from the edge of the base case at the spine side and 10 mm each for the other edges. Indicate the die-cut window's shape and location by preparing the mask as for the UV varnish.
Type of front binder board
Choose the binding board that becomes visible on the edges of the die-cut window – available types: standard (grey) and black (dyed).

We only cut out the window in board with a thickness of 2 mm.
Type of back binder board
Choose the binding board that becomes visible on the edges of the die-cut window – available types: standard (grey) and black (dyed).

We only cut out the window in board with a thickness of 2 mm.
Front die-cut window
The die-cut windows are made either at a standard or an angle.

In the first case, the cutting tool is angled at 90 degrees to the cover and in the second, at 45 degrees. The windows can take a round or rectangular shape.

The safety limits are 25 mm from the edge of the base case at the spine side and 10 mm each for the other edges. Indicate the die-cut window's shape and location by preparing the mask as for the UV varnish.

Mark "None" if your project has no die-cut window on the front cover.
Back die-cut window

Edge Printing
Block edge printing is done in CMYK with pigment inks.

Prepare the design in three PDF files per the rule: one PDF is one surface. Remember to include 3 mm bleeds and an offset tolerance of up to 1 mm between the cover and the printed edge.

Wrap graphics around the entire book, give an impressive position to the typography or extend the illustration from the cover. Edge printing is a fascinating and unconventional solution that thrills readers.
